Representative finding
Belt squeal on cold start
A pronounced belt squeal was present from the air-conditioning compressor/alternator belt on the initial cold start, diminishing once the engine had run. The belt sections visible in the engine bay showed no fraying; a full belt inspection was not possible with the fitted panels in place.

Lot notes
Inspected at the Smith & Broughton Midland yard on a public inspection day. The machine started on the first attempt and was run for function checks; hydraulic cycle times and holding checks were within specification with no drift identified. The full report records what was and was not assessable on the day, with 167 photographs and the ECM history from the machine (Cat ET PSR download) included.
Scope and limits
- Condition as observed on the inspection date, at a public inspection day, with the access allowed on the day.
- Anything not accessible on the day is recorded as not assessed, not guessed at.
- Auction inspection scope: what a stationary machine can show, documented per the RedSpec ACR method. Function and operational testing sit outside auction-day access; commission an inspection for the complete ACR.
- No fitness-for-service sign-off and no purchase recommendation. RedSpec finds, flags, presents; the bid is yours.
